RICS Award for
Airdrie Business Centre

Barr is pleased to announce that the Mill Street Business Centre in Airdire, completed by Barr in 2006, has won two awards at the prestigious RICS Awards.

The Centre was awarded first place in the Scottish National Regeneration category, and a commendation in the Sustainability category.

The 2,500m² project was developed by North Lanarkshire Council as an incubator facility for local businesses and incorporates a range of sustainable features, including a green roof and SUDs drainage solutions.

The design - by architects Aedas - makes the most of the natural light and ventilation available to ensure that the development is exceptionally energy efficient.

The project is a superb example of a sustainable Design & Construct project developed in close partnership with a progressive local authority client.
