Environmental Policy Statement
Barr Limited is committed to managing its activities in an environmentally responsible manner through the company's Environmental Policy Statement. The Environmental Policy for barr Environmental Limited is developed in accordance with this policy.
The senior management of Barr Environmental Limited is fully committed to ensuring it conducts its operations in a responsible manner preventing adverse impact to the environment. The company will prevent pollution by managing its operations effectively, using good environmental practices, reducing emissions and protecting the surrounding environment.
Barr Environmental Limited will ensure continous improvement of its environmental performance, organising its operations in order to prevent pollution, ensure efficient use of resources and minimise disturbance to neighbours and the general public.
The Company's objectives are:
- As a minimum, compliance with applicable legislation, codes of practice, and any other legal requirements. In addition, we will endeavour to exceed these requirements wherever possible
- To comply with the requirements of Planning Permissions, PPC Permits and Waste Management Licenses, and where possible exceed those requirements
- By clear communication and management, ensure that employees, contractors and third parties comply with applicable environmental rules and regulations
- To train employees so that they have a full understanding of their own and the company's environmental responsibilities
- In order to promote continual improvement, senior management will set objectives and targets at the Management Review; these will be reviewed on an on-going basis
- Regular audits of the EMS will be carried out along with commitment to ISO14001
- To perform, review and update impact assessments, ensuring control measures are implemented for significant impacts
This policy will be communicated to all personnel, sub-contractors and visitors to site who may have an impact on the environmental performance of the site. Written copies of this policy are available on the company website.
