The Chairman and Directors of Barr Limited recognise that management of the Company's activities in an environmentally responsible manner makes sound business sense and demonstrates a commitment to the principles of sustainability. We accept an active and practical leadership in respect of environmental management is a business function and that a concerted approach must be adopted to prevent pollution, minimise waste and achieve continual improvement in environmental performance.

The company is committed to a structured approach to the management of its activities, ensuring compliance with environmental legislation, regulations, and all other relevant guidance and recognised best practices.

Through the application of documented mangement systems we will:

Waste reduction is a key factor and a priority in improving environmental performance. We seek to conduct our activities in such a manner that efficient use is made of every resource we consume.

Where our activities unavoidably affect the environment, all reasonable care will be taken to mitigate adverse impacts. Best practical environmental options based on professional assessment and advice will be employed.

We recognise continual change in environmental priorities and legislative obligations and seek to create and enhance environmental awareness and interest amongst our employees. Where necessary, training and practical support will be provided to ensure that everyone understands and implements this policy.
