Barr Surfacing & Civil Engineering

Barr Surfacing & Civil Engineering is the largest surfacing contractor in South West Scotland.

We have access to the full range of asphalt products from Barr Quarries division which operate five asphalt plants which are strategically and geographically well placed throughout the South West area.  We also operate throughout the Scottish Central Belt where we procure materials from our supply chain partners.

Barr operate primarily on major trunk road surfacing, airport surfacing, lane rentals, local authority surfacing, the education sector and the retail sector.  We carry out all aspects of civil engineering in relation to road construction and road maintenance together with more specialist civil engineering works like concrete tanks, marine works etc.  Barr fulfils the role of both Principal Contractor and Sub Contractor.  Our operatives are trained to a minimum standard of SVQ Level 2 in Road Building.

Our highly experienced staff are fully supported by in house Health & Safety Professionals and we have the technical back up of Heathfield Testing Services who are an in house UKAS accredited testing laboratory.
