Last week members of Barr Environmental Limited management team attended Whiteleys amazing family facility In the beautiful Ayrshire countryside, where they spent the day carrying out ground maintenance.
Due to the current COVID-19 situation, Whiteleys normal charitable services are on hold, however they are pleased to be doing their bit to help the NHS by offering accommodation within one of their buildings, allowing NHS staff to stay near to the hospital whilst keeping their families safe.
The unusually quiet Whiteleys Retreat offered the perfect opportunity to carry out some extra TLC on the grounds and building exteriors. Barr staff spent the day onsite undertaking tasks including raking the grounds and painting the converted sheds and brickwork, whilst observing the two metre rule between each other at all times.
Despite the current circumstances, Whiteleys volunteers are continuing to put in a considerable amount work, with a maximum of 4 people onsite per day, ensuring that when Whiteleys is able to reopen to families of children with life limiting illnesses, they can return to a fresh and immaculate retreat where they can make special memories together that will last them a lifetime.
Going forward, Barr Environmental Limited will send two members of staff to Whiteleys Retreat every Friday to help with ongoing ground maintenance.
