Now, regarding recycling.
At waste management sites across Ayrshire and West Dunbartonshire, Barr accepts wood, metals, non-ferrous metals and glass for recycling into new materials.
If you are in any doubt as to what you can and cannot recycle, please read below or get in touch.
We can accept clean waste timber, mixed MDF, chipboard and finished wood for recycling into new materials and products.
We also accept wood wastes from domestic premises at our civic amenity sites in Ayrshire.
A metal medley.
Barr accepts all types of metals, for reprocessing and moulting at each of our four sites.
Non-ferrous metals don’t contain any iron compound and are non-magnetic. These include copper, bronze, aluminium, brass and lead.
Ferrous metals are made up from iron compound and are magnetic. These include steel and cast iron.
We’re glass half full at Barr, and its important to note this material can be recycled time and time again into products such as bottles, jars, non slip surfaces and even white line road markings
No mucking about.
Barr produces nutrient-rich compost from your garden waste to the PAS 100 standard, meaning we can supply this material as a soil-improver and growth medium for a multitude of horticultural and agricultural applications.
